Allergy skin prick test

The skin prick test can tell us whether the mother or the child is prone to particular allergies. The following allergens will be tested: Dog and cat dander, household dust, early-mid blooming trees, grasses, and molds.

To perform the test, small drops of the allergen will be deposited on the underside of the arm. The skin should become slightly irritated (comparable to a mosquito bite). After about 13 minutes, the results can be seen as a slightly raised redness. This will disappear after short period of time.
